    Default C diesel engines.

Hi folks, looking at getting a diesel, probably the 2.2dti as I cant afford the 150 LOl. Can anyone confirm if the engine in the early C is the same as the one fitted to the vectra B (2.2dti) many thanks.

I've got a 2.2dti SRi and things to look out for in the engine bay that I have had issues with are the Turbo to Intercooler pipe and the vacuum/boost pipes.

With the intercooler pipe I got a new silicone (instead of rubber) pipe off ebay for £50. Vauxhall don't sell the pipes individually, they wanted £120 for 4 other pipes!

The vacuum/boost pipes are a hard plastic pipe that can crack or get nicks in them. The rubber connectors can also split. This causes the car to go into limp-home-mode. I replaced the pipes with silicone ones off ebay for £8 for 4 meters (although probably only needed 3m).

Its also a good idea to clean the EGR and boost sensor every 6/12months but that applies to all the diesel models.

Pictured below: New silcone intercooler pipe on the left and the red pipes are the new vacuum/boost pipes.
