    Default Fitted electric tail gate..

Finally I came around to fit my electric tail gate.

I had bought a complete tailgate from ebay.. Luckily I could still use my old tailgate so it came down to fitting the wiring harness from the electric tailgate, swop the tailgate lock and buy the harness from the rear body control to tailgate motor as mine wasen´t fitted with plug for tailgate engine.
We did the work and went down to a dealer ship near my brother cause the one´s near myself didn´t have the time or manpower to do it it in the vacasion.
Nice workshop I most say.. Very kind mechanic. He activated the tailgate for me and then said..
"Do you have rainsensor? "Yes" I replied. He then said "Does your windows close when it rains?" "I don´t know?" I replied. "It does now" He then said..
Then he asked "Do you have heated rear seats?". I replied "No, but I am planning on getting it retro fitted". "Ok" He then replied and said "Now you just have to get the mats and the plugs to get it, cause I have just activated it in the car"

Nice chap.. Only paid for the activation on the tailgate..

But saidly the tailgate only closes a little bit and then losens the wire and it opens again.. Anyone knows what could be the problem.. The motor itself workes perfectly when getting 12V directly.
Only thing I can see on the EPC is possible to change on the device in an "Potentiometer" (spelled on Danish) We think it controls how far the tailgate can go to either sites. I have just ordered the thingy.. Not even expensive though. £60 for it.. They most have a problem with them since it is the only thing you can change on the tailgate motor..

    You are maby right.

What it does is messure the amount of force to close/open the tailgate, when in excess of power neede it stops or opens again.

have you manualy forced the tailgate shut, and then try again trying to grease the "rams"

about the rainsensor, if you have deadlock then it closes when rains.. if no deadlock it wont work but still a very nice shop
