Hi mate if it's of any help , according to EPC , L547 is Magma Red
Cheers Pete
its confusing i put my code number in came up like
547/79u, magma red, flame red
so thought 1st number was the 1st colour, i put this in to ebay for a touch up and all i got was flame red or both the colours?? there must be a differance dont want to get wrong one
547 is flame red,is it not.
The last paint I had made up was 79U magma red and it's a perfect match although it is called flame red by VX
It's the same colour. Just some of the colours have different names depending if it's English or European etc.
Just depends where you go mate, the place I went to used the 79U code and came up with magma red.
If you look at my latest threads the irmy rear diffuser and mudflaps were done in magma red and are perfect. 79L comes up on my paint places computer as flame red and it's slightly darker
the reason i ask is i got the car and there is a small ding in rear door, dealer tryd to get this out but could not do it cause double skinned near edge. i got door off ebay and fitted it and was good fit but it was a bit brighter red.even though the bloke told me it was the same red as my 547 code, you could tell just at a glance, so off it came again. so now the door sits in the garage. i also want a touch up hence the reason for this thread
Reason for it being brighter is that earlier Vec's were not lacquered mate, yours will be lacquered thus the colour difference. If you use some AG super resin polish and polish the new door then you will notice that paint comes off onto the cloth. If you do the same on your car it shouldn't do that
