Default Water leak - Advice please!

    Hi,

My light came on on the dash to tell me to top up about three weeks ago. I thought nothing of it and filled to the KALT mark. Week later, light on dash again, refilled. Yesterday, light came on again and the level is low.

On the advice of a m8, i parked the car after a long run and let the engine run for 5 mins, before checking the underside of the car for water drips etc - nothing found

So now in my worry i'm thinking the coolant is leaking INTO the engine

My m8 suggested Radweld... Any thoughts on where i go from here?

    (It's an '03 2.2DTi by the way)

If you had coolant leaking inside the engine then you would get 'mayo' underneath the fuel filler cap. Anything under there?

Common problem is the header tank leaking, anything noticable coming from that area?

I have a dissapearing coolant issue which is just starting to sound normal lol.

I would'nt use radweld until you know where its leaking. Take it a drive and park up and open the bonnet. Check for leaks around the header tank and then around the radiator and around the engine block. If you cant see any visible leaks from hoses or the header tank then check the coolant to make sure it has no oil in it also pull the oil cap off and see if there is any white goo.

Where / what is the header tank, you mean the tank you stick water in?

    Thanks

I checked the oil filler cap last night, no white stuff!

Am going to check tonight after a good run for leaks in the engine bay.
