    Default Vx Roof Bars

I bought a pair of 2nd hand Vx roof bars for the Vec. No problems, they are a really good fit and very solid so I'm pleased with them.

I notice that the top of the bars has a slot running the whole length side to side of the car. Should there be some sort of non-slip rubber insert in there (mine don't have one) and if so anyone know where I could get something that would fit?

I wondered the same thing when I got my Vx roof bars.

The Vx ones (made by Thule anyway) don't come with the rubber strip. Thule ones, from what I can make out, do come with the rubber strip. I was told that the Thule rubber strip should fit if it's available separately. I never bothered to check as it's only when carrying bikes (which I do rarely these days) that it makes any difference as the little channel that's there catches the wind and makes a whooing noise. With a roof box on (what I use the roof bars for mostly these days) it doesn't make the whooing noise - and yes, that's a technical description of the noise.

I'm not sure I understand the whoosing noise. perhaps you should upload an MP3 with you simulating the noise?
