Default Are cars not selling at the min??

OK, before we go any further, this is not a whats my car worth thread! But i'm hoping by starting a discussion on this on here i might get an idea as to where im going wrong?

Bottom line is, a bought my car for £8000 6 months ago, have spent £900 on it, now have it listed at £7500 on Ebay, Pistonheads, Autotrader, lots of club sites...

Ive had grand total of 5 interested, 2 of which were complete time wasters, the others wanted to pay £6500 ish....

Surely im going mad? I see other prices and mine now seems inline with others... i thought mine would fly out with its rare spec and all??

Im i over priced? Or is the market slow?

    Cheers for any thoughts!

Sorry mate, its those two old sayings, people want something for nothing and unfortunately, something is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it.
    Hope you sell it soon

Nope.. bought private mate, and at the time it was a good £300 cheaper than many other options! I find it hard to swallow that an immaculate facelift fully loaded XP is worth anything less than £7k.

i have exactly the same problem mate, i bought mine a year ago for £4000 in that time its had new exhaust system, rear springs, cam belt and water pump change and brake pipes change and just put 12 month m.o.t on it and i cant give it away.. bearing in mind ive covered just 2300 miles since buying, had one guy ask, i was kind of off guard and wildly asked for £3000 and he was sucking air through his teeth!! i appreciate its age etc but surely it cant depreciate a grand in a year with so little milage covered and major work done and 12 month m.o.t! really wish i didnt have to think about it though

On the local dealer forcourt (network q) vec's are going for 7, 8 or 9k .

Unfortutely, since the budget, the markets are really slow. That's not just cars it's affecting property too,

Consumer confidence is low and has been said, they are not shelling out their cash at the moment

Sorry to say that an SRI 150 cdti nav 5door with 48k on it, is only valued at £6000, admittedly thats without the xp pack, so ,maybe the £6500 ish offer wasnt so far out.

    Tough times for sure.
