Thumbs up Black Smoke and loss of power

    Hi there

This is my first post on this website my brother says people are good at helping you out.
So i was just wondering i bought a vectra C diesel the other day 2003 on a 52 plate 2.0lt DTI.
When i was driving home i noticed that the car smoked black alot, the owner before me has left it standing for 4 months, but i have now drove about 70 miles in it and it is still smoking pretty bad.
The other problem would be that wen my revs seem to go high the car seems to lose power and the engien elctronics light come on ( the one with the spanner through the car).
Somebody told me the other day that the turbo might have gone but i was just hoping not. Iv heard from sombody else that it wont be the turbo.

Also the cars pulls alot the right side.
When i purchased the car i also baught some forty to put in the fule tank to try and clean it out but this does not seem to have happend.

    Any help will be great

Check all of the pipes Vacuum and Boost pipes for splits or tears (the boost pipes are especially prone to this)

If you don't find anything look on here for how to clean the boost sensor and egr valve

    Thanks mate.
So you dont think it will be the turbo?
And how much do the pipes normally cost to get fixed if i do find a crack?

At the very very worst its the turbo but i don't think it will be.

I'm sure the boost pipes are about 150 odd quid as you have to buy a whole set but you can get silicon replacements singly for about 50 quid (obviously silicon ones will be better)

Vacuum pipe is available by the metre and the ends can be bought from the stealers for a few pounds

Yeah the are easy to fit is you have a bit of knowledge about cars, the vacuum pipes are push fit and the boost pipes are just like large coolant hoses without the coolant
