I was wondering if "they" make a (female) USB to 3.5m/m line in plug.
I have the idea of using a memory stick ( full of music) to the Auxilary plug in Larisa,s car. Thjus the need for the above "adaptor" or lead. If one is made that is.

Ed I think you'll find that the line in relies on audio signals being transmitted by an audio device and amplified by the HU, a memory stick transmits data in binary form for use by a computer etc to produce music from the data files I am not sure this will work.
as above, it wont work. The 3½ mm jack is audio input.
You might be correct Paul. But we have a portable CD/Radio player and it has a USB port. We can play music off the memory stick from there. I don,t know if the electrics inside take into account what you mentioned above.
Hmm. if you do decide to try it, Maplins do all sorts of peculiar connections.
I know what you mean. My previous stereo has a USB input as well as aux in and several other inputs.
The aux in as previously stated just accepts analogue audio input. The other inputs USB, SD etc have the built in circuitry behind them to accept digital input. The two are not normally interchangable.
The USB stick needs a power feed from the socket it's plugged into to bring the chip inside to life, you don't have enough connections on the 3.5mm jack plug (three max on a stereo one) to send power and earth one way and audio back the other.
