Hey there, the dealer will charge you an investigation charge typically an hours labour which will probably be around £60. If its still within the vauxhall warranty as a new car and the chain/tensioner is faulty then you should get a new one without problem. If its a used car/aftermarket warranty you have purchased then there is little chance a warranty company will cover it until or if it fails. HTH.

its a used car bud 07 plate and its a autocare warranty i think its a 4-6 hour job time or so in the dealers eyes anyways lol id rec around £120 they would prob want to insp it just to say its a tensioner seizure thats causing the prob and its not coverd in your warranty, thats £120 or the likes towards some 1 fitting a chain kit for me lol

Ive got the autocare warranty aswell, the investigation charge is around £60 after they have it they will tell you if its needing done or not they wont take anything else from you for looking at it. If its covered under warranty then you wont have to pay the investigation charge.

Ive had loads of work done through my autocare warranty but unless it fails i doubt they would change the tensioner although its worth a try also as its not long out of vauxhall warranty i would tell them to contact VX and ask for them to pay for it to be replaced if autocare wont pay for it.
