Default New member - Hello and Help!

    Hello!

Im currently looking at buying a 2005 Vectra 2.0T SRi. I have looked at the car and all seems ok. However, I belive that this model comes with traction control. I was looking for the button on the centre console to turn the traction controll on and off, however I could not seem to find it.

My question is, does this mean there is no traction controll? Is this normal for this spec?

    Many thanks,
    Alan

It has it and you can retro fit the button if the car does not have it. It is on the right of the centre consol next to the CD player bellow the turn off the alarm button.
the button is plug and play.
It should work on an 05 car.

As above the button costs around £12 from the dealers BUT its hit and miss wether it will work or not. If it does'nt work it will at least fill a blank space and light up.

    Hi,

Thanks for all the replies, thats brilliant. Looks like ive bought the car now , so ill purchase and fit the switch this week and see how it goes. Im not too fussed if it works or not, was just confused as to if it was normal to HAVE traction control but NOT have the button!

    Alan

EDIT: Oh and is there a way to donate/ become a proper member of this forum?

If you have buttons on the steering wheel you will not have the full canbus set up and the button will probably work but if you have scrolling thumbwheels on the steering wheel the traction control button will probably just be an ornament on the dash like it is on my 2005 preface lift Elite. It does look better than the blanking piece though.

Mines the facelift 2005 model with the scroll wheels on the steering wheel. Does this mean it has the full CANbus set up? If it is then may i need to get the button added to the CAN system for it to work?

    Thanks,
    Alan
