Help with new wheel choice

Had the car down at the garage to get the wheels balanced yesterday due to a shake through the steering wheel, but when the wheels were taken off the car it turns out they are properly knackered. Visibly buckled on the inside rim and some huge flat spots where I've properly smacked some pot holes.

These are the wheels currently on the car


My options are to try and find 2 of these wheels, but no joy down that route so far (Oxigin 8's I think they are), or get a new set. My budgets only around £600 just now, so was thinking about the 18" VXR replicas off ebay.

Anyone got any opinions, do's or don'ts as to what would suit the car?

Should I drop to 17" or would they look too small under the arches?

Gonna keep a close eye on this thread as i too, am looking for some new wheels.

I am also considering the 18"VXR's!! LoL

Well, wheels arrived today, 18" VXR replica's, rushed home to open them up only to find 2 of them are shadow chrome and 2 are normal silver! It could only happen to me!!

Wow, fair play the other 2 wheels just turned up! Got 2 hours to fit them before I need to leave for manchester, photo's when I get to my hotel!

Wasnt convinced when i put them on, I think I like the plain colour of the wrong ones they sent better, but they're growing on me. Tyres are pretty loud though!

19's in my opinion plus im suprised any wheels stayed on looking at you original picture that estate looks gloomy mate pmsl glad ya get there in the end tho mate

wheels look nice mate, i was thinking of these before i settled on the ones i chose.

must admit i haven't seen a vec in that colour, looks to me.

Lol, thats an old peoples sheltered housing complex, not where I live! Was going to get the 19's but the rides hard enough for my old bones already!
