new car, new member, could do with some info

hi sorry if any off this is a repeat of old stuff but ive searched for ages,
1) i brought an ex police 3.0 cdti diesel auto 2007, has no cruise but id like it, do i get away with just a stalk or does it need to be turned on?
2) from what i gather the radios need to be paired to the screen ( its an sri model so i assume it has the fuel computer) if i buy a radio with a screen will it need programing to the car in anyway still or will it work perfect from the off?
or alternativly how much does it cost to get it done at the dealers, or is there a cheapo program i can use to do it myself ( like the cheap vag com you can get for the vws)
i understand that if i ysed an aftermarket radio i wont be able to use my screen functions, so i want to go genuine,
3) having no radio my steering wheel controls do nothing, will they do something when the radio is in ?
i think thats my main questions cheers

all the stuff you want can be added
the cruise control should just need the stalk then tech2'd
the radio and screen will need to come from the same car if your lucky and the trip computer is active it just plug and play but get one with the secuirty code or de-paired if possible(will need tech2)and the wheels should work when pluged in or tech2 again.
we are not allowed to talk about cheapo copied software on here.
but thier are a few members on here that can activate programs on the car for you,
just ask for tech2 help.

get this radio - its a cd changer with dab and has a gid screen all paired so just need to plug in and away you go - i did this upgrade from cd30 and its brill. you only have to fit head unit and screen you dont need to fit arial or bow if you dont want.

Tech2 session is any where from £40 + VAT to £60 but if any members local have tech2 they may help you

hi m8 as said above you will not need tech2 if the radio and screen are allready paired from another car.
but tech2 vary from place to place £30-£80 for a session, you will have to give your local vx dealer a call to see how much they charge
