    Default Air Filter Advice 2.0T

Ay Up Again Fellow veccy lovers.

Need some advice on upgrading my Air Filter.

I Have been told that by changing from a standard air filter to a full induction kit will cause problems with the Air Flow Sensor.

    Is This True?

I'm Sure a lot of you guys have got upgraded induction kits and have had no problems at all.

Any advice on which induction kit to go for? Im eventually gonna change the exhaust, and have the car remapped, if this makes any difference to the air filter you suggest,.

    All Advice Greatly Recieved!!!!

    Cheers. Mitch.

I run mine with a universal Ramair closed induction system, I removed the airbox and it connects directly to the maf (never been an issue with that at all). The intake end connects via some 80mm flexipipe to a VXR intake which i put on as its way shorter than the standard snorkel that was fitted.. With this set up I do not get any heat soak but plenty of cold air flow. Am not sure if you get a BHP increase, in fact i doubt it with any filter upgrade, but cleaner acceleration is noticable.. Also I get a gorgeous amplified turbo whine and dump whoosh......

Ramair system about 45 quid, 80mm diameter flexipipe about 20 and the VXR intake about 25, think i got all the bits from the bay of E

no pics i can load up today at any rate.. I think Marcosuk put pics up, he ran with almost the same setup and had the same results.. its very easy to do, no tech skills required, honestly..

I had a K&N Apollo fitted to mine and it indroduced a slight hint of turbo lag, but as Nige said the noise from the recirculating dump valve was amplified and sounded very nice indeed, but I ended up selling it due to the lag it introduced.
