    Default remapping/egr soot

Am i right in thinkin that after remapping a cdti150 you will get less soot build up in the egr.....due to the engine being more efficient??

Easiest way to tell is smoke output, as whatever comes out the back is being fed through via the EGR. Boxes tend to smoke alot, so they will clog up the EGR quicker, remaps tend to be better, but still won't be better than std for smoke (all things being well in the first place that is).

The EDS non-EGR will keep it cleaner

Thanks for that mate, i am very suprised how clean the tail pipe seems to stay on the vectra, when i bought it i noticed how clean it was and having had it now for a few months i dont seem to get any soot build up at all.....which is nice!
So i just hope everything is running ok before the remap

Get it custom remapped and get the egr function disabled and you wont have to worry about future problems

Most mappers give the car a health check (check for codes) before applying maps, so if there is anything they should pick them up.

I have had my remap now for 3 years approx. Never seen any increase in smoke. Never had any running problems to date. I just make sure I blast the car on the autobahn once a week (e.g. 70mph in 3rd gear for 5 minutes or so when engine is at operating temp) and double dose on millers at every tank fillup.
