    Hi Mike
on autovaux order form it just lists front bearing petrol or diesel so it looks like they are not handed,(the diesel is about £10 /£12 dearer than petrol)

EPC lists 93186387 for cars built between 2003 and 2004 (except IDS) whereas 93186388 is for all cars built after 2005, (or those with IDS between 2002 and 2009)

    are your dust sheilds rubbing?

just a thought, but would usually be more like brake squeal

sounds like bearing but i'd expect play

    another thing

are both front tyres new. if not swap them to rear and see

    worth try for no cost

Best way to check is to jack the wheel up and roatate it, then do the same with the other side, if a bearing has gone you'll feel the difference.

It is normal for the Vec to not have any play in the bearing but still whine, this is due to its "sealed" constuction
