K&N Apollo CIS Universal Induction Kit vs. K&N 57i Induction Kit

For my 1.8 vectra Sri 2007. I'm stuck between;

Apollo CIS universal induction kit:

57i induction kit:

My mate said never get a universal fitting induction as they "never fit" and said I'd be better of with the 57i

However, I see a bag load of people on this forum saying don't bother with 57i??

What you suggest???

Closed & cold fed every time over an open cone, mate.

As for the universal fit, your mate may well be right; I only used the cone & housing with mine & sourced a 90° silicone bend & 100mm feed separately.

I bought an Apollo for mine and then bought the fitting kit for the vec and it was fine

The K&N 57i kits are terrible for these engines. Loads of noise and actually sap power due to all the heat soak. The Apollo is far better, and as said just get an universal one and buy your silicone joiners separate. TBH though just a good old K&N panel filter in the stock derestricted airbox will do the job.
