    Default alignment places?

does any one know any wheel alignment/tracking garage near the hamilton, scotland area as yet again the front needs done.
really starting to pee me off!

because the cars lowered the kind of alinement equipment that is usually put over the wheels does not go under the arches so i think it needs to be the kind that goes on the nuts?

    any ideas?

    Lowered more than standard?
I use McConechys at Speirsbridge Roundabout, £60, and they can fit their equipment on my SRi without any problem

You need to make an appointment anyway to use their gemometry equipment (unless they've changed this recently)

I've mentioned them before, never again
They wanted to use the generic settings on my Vectra
I asked them to use the sports settings for a 2005, they couldn't find it
Suggests they have not updated their licence, their system couldn't find my vehicle nor VRN

well i ended up going to............... Kwik fit.
its the closest and cost £28 for the front doing, but i forgot to ask if it was a sport settings or whatever..

it wasnt hooked up to a machine it was just a laser reading onto each alignment thing on each wheel.
it was 4* out so it was toeing in.
sorted now but my steering wheel still aint straight.

That's just a front wheel alignment check, for toe only
Equally, they should have been able to put your steering wheel level

However, what was recommended was a FULL geometry check
This is specific to the vehicle and takes into account the toe, thrust angle, and camber on each axle
Hence why it costs slightly more

Sadly you may as well have smoked that £28
I would only have a front wheel alignment check done after a change of tyres, and even then a check only (refuse the adjustment)
If an adjustment is required then I would go back to somewhere with Hunters equipment
