Default How Much You Spent on Your Car As A % of The Purchace Price ?

    Guys,

Just wondering how much we spend on our cars, to date, as a percentage over the purchace price, ie if your car cost £1000, & you spent £100 on a nice set of wheels, thats 10% over your purchace price.

No prizes for the highest, just curious.

Let me start this thing rolling, I am currently at 50%

Spent a LOT more on the car since I bought it than it cost to buy in the first place. Paid just under £4k for this one a couple of years ago and easily spent that and more on it already.

However, when I get the other one back, that's a different story as I paid £22k for that brand new lol

Just over 20% for me for mods, I'm not counting repairs, that would put it in the 25-50 bracket.

Paid 4.5k for mine 18 months ago and so far its had:
DMF, Clutch, Slave Cylinder and Clutch Master Cylinder,
    Rear Pads,
    2 Front Shocks,
VXR Springs All Round (a freebie but thought I'd mention it anyway),
    VXR Steering Wheel,
    VXR Gearknob,
    2 Full services,
    5 Tyres.
There maybe more I've forgotten, I'm just lucky I'm a mechanic and have done all the work myself else I'd have spent double if not triple what I have already.

    Erm.... £6k car
    £300 on warranty = 5%

If not the inlet manifold, wiper linkage and alternator would've cost me around £1500 (which would have put me upto 25%)

my car was a wreck when i bought it so I paid peanuts and have spent the same peanuts doing it up to what it is now.. If I had paid the full or proper price for the car then i would not liked spending what I have on it so far.. but i do intend to keep it for a good few years to come so will get my monies worth...

I paid £3600 for mine 2 years ago and I must have spent £1200 on mods.

£800 was on new 19" flakes with uniroyal rain sport tyres. The rest is in my signature.

I rekon I could get £3k for it today as it's immaculate all round and most importantly I have enjoyed owning and driving it. Love its reflection in shop windows with the 19's
