Default My New Boot Lights & Rear Footwell Lighting Question...

Bought couple of these (48cm flexible LED strips), there only a couple of quid for 2...

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=260607181775

48cm ones are the best size for the location as you only need to cut 3 leds off to fit perfect along and around the curve (once the supports are cut out)... These LED and similar SMD strips can be shortened by removing multiples of 3 from the end due to the way there wired up

    Pictures below:

QUESTION:... People who have fitted rear footwell led's etc, how did you attach to the underside of the seat. Just a few cable ties or.......

    Cheers, lee

Here's my messy wiring to the rear boot light - which i've kept

48cm ones, if you chop out the supports and cut off 3 from the end they'll fit perfectly here

If you look at my pics they dont quite go to the end as i had to cut 6 off one, due to the 1st 3 on the other being blown. and the replacement i ordered was a different shade of white when finally turned up...

But i'd follow the curve if i was you to make it neater. I used a hack saw blade for either side of the supports, and pliers to pull them out... took 2 mins... HTH...

Im going to do this to the Vec-B, just want to know, what impact will it have (if any) to the standard boot wiring, I mean it wont over heat it will it?

Last thing I want is wires melting & burning out.

Also, how did you attach them to the actual panel!

    GOOD JOB THOUGH!

    Bye bye Vec B

Superb idea this the standard lighting is rubbish so this will be a huge improvement for so little cost.

I've had two 30cm strip wired in to my boot for about a year after realising the boot like is terrible, I work nights and am in and out of my boot all night so these help a lot, got my glued to the underside of the parcel shelf and have male/female assorted wired in for if I want to remove the parcel shelf for anything.
