    Talking Inlet Manifold Done Today

    Well....

I have just picked my baby up from the garage, she's had a new inlet manifold and swirl valve actuator fitted today.

It seems a much nicer drive, bit more thrust in the lower gears!!

£599 all in, which I was quite happy to pay.

Just hope that this will now stop my DPF from clogging every month....fingers crossed!!

They did a job for me, said the bill came to £599, when my credit card statement came in the post I saw they'd actually charged me £4500. They never repaid it.

    Just kidding. lol

Good price for the job, be worth making sure your EGR is nice and clean with your new manifold.

Just a quick update following the new manifold yesterday.

Got in the car this morning, drove it until warm......then let rip.

What a difference, I thought it was quick before.........feels like its been re-mapped now, pulling like a train right through the rev range.

Just one observation though.....the running temperature seems to be a bit higher than before. The temp guage sits around 90 degrees now, whereas before it was generally around 80 degrees.

Is this anything to be concerned about???

Even so, at 90 degrees the thermostat should be open and the fans would kick in and bring the temperature back down again.

When the engine is cold, check the coolant level is correct. Monitor the temperature for a few days, if it keeps staying at 90, it could well be a faulty thermostat.
