I agree. Better checking out Ebay and look for something like a Nikon D70 with extras for that money.

Agreed, you can get 12.1Mp on a phone now (Sony Satio). Phones will mostly have crappy lenses (and only digital zoom), but still...

There may be a few extras in the package you mention but that would be a misuse of the money IMO. You'd get a better deal than that at your nearest Jessops or local independant camera shop! Also try eBay/Amazon.

Olympus aren't bad, but Canon or Nikon make better lenses. A newer camera will have a higher Mp count (I wouldn't get anything less than 9 or 10Mp on a DSLR) and a larger viewing screen on the back. I'm a Fuji man myself but I certainly wouldn't turn down a Nikon D90 (12.3Mp) or Canon EOS 50D (15.1Mp) at the right price. You'll be able to get 2nd hand older models much cheaper than those though...

That sounds OK - 15Mp, 3" LCD screen and the 500D can record full HD (1080p) movies too!

Get .pdf of the glossy brochure here.

A good entry point, you could treat yourself to a zoom lens at a later stage...
