I'd have thought the fusebox behind the boot panel. I keep meaning to install a 12V socket in the boot of my Signum, and that's where I was expecting to ba able to tap off from.

Look in the fuse box and at the top you will find a 40 amp maxifuse (big'un), The fuse terminals below and above that fuse have their live terminals towards the rear of the car. I have a feed from the top one to the cigar lighter in the rear of the car, and a feed from the lower one to a permanent live socket in the boot. Photos can be posted if you wish

Yes please Gary. I would really like to install a power point in the boot of my car - mainly for the cool box we bought the other weekend.

Here's the plug just above the fuse box cover

Here's the permanent live points taken from the fuse terminals

Note the common earth for both earth wires. I drilled a hole and used a self tapper. Scratch the bodywork a bit with some emery.

    Hope this helps a bit

I spoke to my local stealer today and they want £80 to wire an accessory socket to a perm live in the boot.....

    Does that sound expensive?
