Well I'm not currently driving the car... it ran out of fluid, and I haven't topped it up...

Is the pump attached to the rack itself? eg/ does it matter if I run the car with no fluid if it's getting replaced anyway?

I'm happy to have a go at the pads myself... how hard can it be? Take the wheels off, undo the caliper... take pads out, use a C-clamp to squeeze the caliper back then put new pads in right?

    something like that...

I'm gonna call a reccomended garage and see how much fitting an aftermarket rack would cost

    will keep this updated!

Spenny... I might take you up on some help with the pads? Could pay you some labour or beer or whatever

I work in Farnborough, so I'm there all the time... I think I could do the pads, but I haven't done it myself before!

Yes the pump is all part of the rack (electric pump), i would strongly advise against using the car with a fubar rack.

Just asked Vaux for a price on the part...

Gave my reg... they then worked out that because I don't have ESP I need part number 93172265.

Which is JUST a rack apparantly, without arms or a pump..

For this they would like to charge me (not including fitting or anything) - £717.50
