    Default Aftermarket Parking Sensors

Anybody have experience of these? Prices seem to vary widely, even on FleeBay. I definitely won't be getting the trashy flashy LED on the dash type, just the beep-beep variety. Also don't mind colour coding them myself rather than pay extra £30 for the privilege. Main questions are:

    1. Any recommended/well proved/good value/good quality ones you've used?
    2. Any special connection into car's electrics to avoid upsetting things, or OK to simply scotch lock them into reversing lights as most seem to do?
    3. Any recommendations on the optimum positioning (for my Signum)? In fact measurements from say, the centre of the towing eye cover to the centre of each sensor would be really useful from anyone with factory fitted ones on a Signum. Pictures too? (OK, I'm getting way too cheeky now :-) Martin

I just ordered these ones yesterday as a couple of people on here using them. Very easy to fit according to the posts made and the work perfectly. Apparently when you take the rear bumper off there are already markings showing where they would go if fitted from the factory. There is also a post somewhere with the measurements if you dont want to take the bumper off.

set i bought off ebay £18 fitted myself in about half hour, longest bit is getting bumper off.
Markings already on bumper and i soldered onto reversing wire as wires are thin and scotch locks can be unreliable.

Mine were about £25 and had a choice of colours. The metalic black matches my car very well. I would avoid spraying yourself if possible because if you put too much paint on they won't work! They need a very thin layer which is very hard to do as a amater.

I soldered them in (as has been said scotch locks are crap on such thin wire) and they are the best thing I have ever done to the car....

Thanks for info so far guys. I think I'll go with the CISBO ones recommended by DasArab. Also found this site: http://www.parking-sensor.co.uk while trawling around. Good info/tips to be had if anyone else is interested. Of particular note is their explanation of why powering through a relay (£10 from them) would avoid any issues with bulb failure sensors on the car. Though no one's mentioned it in relation to the Vectra/Signum, thought it worth highlighting. Martin

    Default CISBOs ordered.

DasArab. Just ordered mine, though don't think I'll have time to fit until next week. If you come accross any issues/can offer any tips, I'd appreciate a heads-up. Ta. Martin
