    Default 55 plate 2.8t Elite

    So the engine in the 55 plate 2.8t's I guess it basically the same as the 255 VXR's running a different map? Right or wrong?

    So can they be remapped to 280+ like the 280 VXR's???

    Anyone know the difference in the engines???

    yes they can. The superchip blufin should in theory take you to just over 280 bhp. Not to sure about the differences in the engines though.

    Same engine different map, the airbox also has an extra hole on the VXR

    oh yes. Same turbo i think? Pretty sure its just a different map, air box and intake. All though i'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me if i'm wrong. As you may have seen i recently purchased a 2.8t signum. Of which the pre 07 reg are only 230 bhp. I really dont know why? I dont know if you've driven one but they still shift in standard form.

    Same part number for the turbo on the NEL and the NET - 55564299.

    Here's a thought though - if you have a 280 BHP VXR, and remap it to, I don't know...310? Then surely the NEL can also be remapped to 310, but from 230 or whatever they have to start with?

    Don't forget, you've got smaller brakes than the VXR - that's one reason why the Signum would need to put out less BHP than the VXR.

    I have never driven one but have found a nice 55 plate one I quite like. Also it's only £245 a year to tax being a 55 plate.

    Would be interesting to see what they do drive like compared to my gsi. They have the 314mm brakes so that's cool

    yeah i take your point Jezzy! This is a strange one though. Just getting my service book out ready for tomorrow and on the pass code it says eng type Z28 NET not NEL so does that mean that mine is a 250 bhp model?

    The elite will be an auto too i think, if so once mapped it will actually be faster than a mapped manual vxr
