Default It sounds like I'm running on a flat!!!

My vectra is occasionally making a noise from the front after cornering or heavy acceleration. The noise sounds like one of the front tyres is flat?!? Its clearly not got flat tyres!!!!!!!

It does not happen all the time but it is becoming more common? Could it be the wheel bearing?

sounds like it could be a bearing but normally they are noisy all the time or when steering a certain way.

What sort of noise is it?

Worn bearings on the Vectra C don't make any noise, makes them difficult to diagnose unless you have the car on a ramp

A long time ago I drove over something that gave an occasional banging sound from the nearside front tyre
Initially I couldn't see what it was, so drove forward such that I could inspect each third

I found a large split elastic band wedged in one of the treads!

If you suspect the tyres, then post a little more info, including make, type, profile, mileage / age per axle
