Default What car won't lose any money in 6 months?

I've just broken my vectra vxr up and really need another car as i'm relying on my work van which i hate driving

I want to hopefully get a 08/58/09 plate vec vxr in 6 months max

What car could i buy now for around 6/7/8k that won't lose a penny when i come to sell it.

    I've looked at the following

    E39 535i sport or 530i sport
    mk5 golf gti
    audi a3 3.2

i can't see any of them loosing much if any value. any other car which i should consider

    cheers

if you get a bargain you might be lucky, sometimes the last of a particular model if the replacement has a big price hike can do ok.

anything that is still considered a collectable or a classic - unless you have a mint load of money and can order a car thats not been priduced yet and be at the front of the list to sell the rights to someone else on the day of release

in reality, probably nothing in this price range. You might get fortunate and sell a "cult car" on to an enthusiast for a similar price you paid for it, but in these times of recession that is by no means a certainty.
Budget for substantial loss whatever car you buy - short of buying Mclaren F1.

or you could get a decent old bmw or vw for about £1k (say 15-20yr old car), then you're never going to lose a large amount by running it into the ground.
