Well after a bit of head scratching, I've got my new head unit fully fitted and working so thought I'd share some pics.
Ok so to fit this I ordered the connects2 double din facia adapter which is a reasonable match in colour but not perfect.
On my first attempt to do this install I ordered an autoleads steering wheel interface (pc99-x80) with clarion patch lead. This is where I encountered my first problem, the steering wheel controls worked fine but I didnt realise that the clarion's Navigatior wouldn't operate using only the gps signal but required a speed pulse and reversing signal Input. Unfortunatley The autoleads interface did not provide these.
I tried to tap the speed pulse wire from the quadlock connector but I still didn't have any success. At this point I decided to change the autoleads interface for the connects2 one (ctsvx002). Not only does this give a speed pule, reversing signal and illumination output but also allows you to change the time on the vauxhall screen using the steering wheel controls, saving the need to replace the oem unit.
Once I had swapped the interfaces over and connected up the speed pulse etc I finally had working nav . all that was left to do was run the Ipod cable, which is in the glovebox for now. Route the microphone for handsfree and voice control, I decided on the A Pillar. Find a suitable place to fit the bluetooth adapter There was enough space under the ashtray, and route the gps antenna to the centre speaker apeture.
Now That it's fitted, so far I'm really impressed the sound quality is very good, the picture quality is also impressive. the menus are intuative and fast to respond as is the touchsreen. The navigation is very clear and the addition of the harddrive means I no longer need to carry around so many cd's. all in all I'm very impressed.
