Default Slight rattle on gear change?

I was driving down the motorway today giving it some beans. When I changed gear on about 4500 revs into 5th then put my foot down I get a slight rattle type noise for about one second, then it goes away.
This only happens when I hoof it....push really hard. Otherwise everything is running great. is this an early sign of something on its way out??
Any idea what this could be gents??
    Cheers.

possibly Concentric Slave Cylinder (thrust bearing)
is on its way out and is rattling against the springs of the clutch plate?

It doesn't happen under normal driving only when I really go hard. I've only noticed it two or three times in the last year and never really thought much of it. so what do I do? can I just leave it until it increases or get it sorted straight away. Will it damage anything else if its just left alone.
    Thanks for your help.

personally i would leave it and wait till it makes the noise more often!
would suggest you check your gearbox oil is full, if you got a haynes manual they will tell you how to check it and fill it!

the first time mine rattled i was near some road works and it sounded bit like a pneumatic chisel digging until i noticed there were no workers about because it was a sunday . that was the worst it ever sounded, it was noticedable when giving the car a rev and when the revs dropped back to 1000rpm it was rattle slightly.

Yeah that's what I'll do. If it ain't broken don't fix it.... At least I'm on the case, thanks.
At the mo its only a slight noise under heavy load in really high revs. and I don't drive like that as a rule. I think I'll leave well alone until it becomes noticeable in every day driving.

    2003 DTI siggy. so far.....
