    Default limp home mode

    hi all

    my car seems to be stuck in limp home mode

    it drives like a bag of spanners has no accelaration any ideas

    what year / engine type.

    if you have code reader , try getting the code and come back to the forum.

    No code reader then there's a how too in the how too section which allows you to pull the codes off although its not as simple as code reader.

    after that


    have you tried turning it off and restarting? or taking battery off for 30 mins to see if it clears itself?

    the most obvious and i guess most likely thing after this that you can do without costing anything would be to clean EGR and Boost sensor. How toos for that aswell.

    check vacuum hoses and intercooler hoses. plenty of links about these

    again all can be done for free......

    try these then come back for more help.

    someone on here will solve it for you I'm sure

    sorry it's a 2005 2.0dti

    don't have a code reader it did come up with a fault on the display and when i checked the handbook it said water in the fuel filter .

    i've had the filter changed but made no difference

    Try posting your problem in the 'Engine & Drivetrain' section. You'll get more 'hits' there.

    when you drained the fuel filter did you see water?

    if you let it settle there would be 2 discrete layers mostly fuel but a smaller layer of water

    unless you have water ingress into your fuel system, i suspect this isn't your problem especially if you put a new filter in and drained it at the time
