Default Calipers back from recon, & other new bits !!! Pics !!!

    Hi all,

I recently got hold of some big vx calipers. Not so pretty to start with:

BUT - After a couple of weeks at BIGGRED, & not much change from £400 .

Have got new 345mm & 209mm discs, new pad, & stainless lines.

Discs have had a process similar to powder coating, but not powder coating. Apparently the guy does similar process to Formula 2 cars!! Will need to take it easy until coating has cleared from face of disc, should not take long though!!

    All getting fitted next week.

    Regards.

They look fantastic! Quite tempted with braided hoses too but don't fancy trying to get the original hoses off.

Discs look interesting! Think I would be taking it very easy lol.

I know what your saying, but all 4 have been fully refurbed, & all exposed metals have been plated, so should stay rust free, for longer.

The paint finish is apparently also special, it allows calipers to be cleaned easy. Downside is that I cant put my decals on, they wont stick, & will just wash off!!.

    Thumbs up

    cool

i'm sending mine there too. good reputation

    price includes full refurb

they also do in blue, black, and i think green

or electroplate if cheaper finish needed

    Just one thing

those are the V6 314mm calipers there....

have you got new carriers for the calipers so you can accomodate the 345mm discs. If so just wondered where you got them?

    cheers

Biggred did a good job. It took them 2 goes to get right, as they were having problems with the curing ovens. Got to be honest, I got a slight discount because of this fact, the price I was quoted originally was £460!!

As far as I know, the calipers came off a Police Vectra. The old discs measured 345mm & 292mm. I can only assume that these calipers will work with the new 345mm discs I have. Again, carriers are the originals that came off the police car.

I hope that has answered your question.

    makes sense, thanks

what wheels are you running 17 or 18 inch

would love to know if 345mm will fit under 17 inch without bumping into wheel balancing

also what have you done with your dust shields? replaced or bent or cut ?

    cheers
