help possible 3rd plug problem

hi guys after reading many threads on here regarding the above,
whilst driving today i noticed a slight misfire at 2000 and above.....then when setting off back home slightly more noticeable.............just ben to drop my son off at his GF's and the car feels like it is shagged........really misfiring and wont rev above 3000 rpm and when i tried to boot it it felt like the engine was gonna shake itself out of the car,also noticed a srange kinda smell when i popped the bonnet

can this happen that quickly from being first noticed within 20 miles of driving i ,mean.......as allways help appreciated

Unplug the 3rd injector plug m8, blow on it and fit it back, the car may run well for a short time but to me that is the same symptoms I had - really annoying to say the least. Should it actually be the 3rd injector for absolute sure, then the limp mode will pop up too accompnaied by engine shut downs. Dealer will do the fix for £50-£100.

You can whip it on and off a few times with a squirt of WD40 to see if its the 3rd injector at fault. Check all plugs are secure too.

Was there any smoke from the exhaust ?. whilst you were trying to rev it.

cheers guys.............yea unplugged and sparayed with wd.....then drove it.......cured it and it went better than its ever done before(or maybe its been going since i got it)...............so will order from stealers on monday. cheers again

right tried to drive car again this morning and its even worse than before!!
my problem is that dealers will only take payments in person, can't drive my car up there ..........does any one local to me have this part sat in there garage? and would be able to come to me today and do the fix......i will pay of course, need my car has my wife has had an operation on her knees and is on crutches at the momment.......as allways help appreciated

sounds like a coil pack breaking down (common fault)

hairy 31 has a CDTI, these dont have coil packs.
Will be the third inj plug also very common on diesels
