    hi

    i replaced mine completly.

i had stiff changes from 1-2 in cold and Vx reduced oil levels in gearbox from 3.2 to 2.4 litres in 2005 for the f40 box.

So i did the same and bingo it cured it.

I can't remember the exact spec but I seem to remember it being fully synthetic stuff

there's a recent how to do

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114193

and some info from another post

The F40 6 speed suffers from syncro problems with 3.2 ltrs so vx recommend you only put in 2.4 ltrs. This correct from the VX tis.

Complaint: Hard 1-2 shifting when transmission is cold, 2-3 shift when transmission warm.
    Cause: Design related.
Production: The reduced oil level was introduced in production starting 08.05.07 with the following VIN:W0L0ZCF4871102355.

    Remedy:
In case of customer complaint reduce oil volume from 3,2 to 2,4 liter.

Note: If the shifting behaviour will remain unchanged we do not
recommend a transmission replacement because the problem might reoccur
since there were no relevant design changes since
    transmission-No: R05020418 (March 2005).

    good luck

Sorry, misread i though you were on 6 speed box. apparently you'll be on the F35 gearbox so i'm not sure if the same applies to yours as the F40 as the excess oil affected synchromesh.

all the same i'd pop to Vx and check what they suggest for specific spec of fully synth and if they reduced gearbox oil levels in the same way as for the F40

Only the F40 needs the oil level reduced, not the F35.

Simply ask for manual transmission fluid for F35 gearbox. It was only 10€/L for my F40 about a year ago

Castrol SMX-S fully synthetic gearbox oil is at least as good as the Vauxhall stuff, available from Halfords.

Vx part number is 93 165 290 and it holds 1.9 litres Ed. According to AutoData there isn't a level plug so you'll probably just have to completely change the oil.
