    Default dti engine change

Hi. my car is a 2002 vectra 2.0 DTI, and the engine is knackered. i replaced it with a another DTI engine from a donar car, complete with the engine wiring loom, i did not swop the fuel pump over as the replacement engine was in good running order, when i tried to start the the car, all get is click noise fron the glove box side and the engine wont turn over.

is ther any electronic items i need to change over from the donor car?

hi mate the diesel pump will need codeing to the car and to do that you will need the car pass from the car the engine came from.or you can swap the pumps over and do it that way then it will run.

    hope this helps

hi you can request the security code from vauxhall if you have registration of donor car alot easier than swapping pumps.

To get the security code don't you need the vehicle registered in your name with the v5 and additional proofs of address and photo ID etc?
I'd change the pump matey its the easier option (although it would have been far easier to do it with the engine out) seeing as its already coded to your ecu.
You can get the new pump code by-passed so it will work in any car if there's anyone in your area who can do it for you, then either keep it as a spare or sell it on, you should have no problems selling it seeing as them pumps are prone to failure.

I thought they'd changed the rules on stuff like security codes etc to stop ringing, I'm trade and I cant even order some stuff without all the paperwork, I think number plates is about as much as they'll let me have now. Its a bit lapse on vx's part really, not saying that any of you have done it but if you had a motor stolen for the engine and they're just giving out codes left right and centre to any tom dick and harry it kind of defeats the object of having security codes.
