    Default quick fix

    i had the same

eventually it would pop off at the most inappropriate time.

fixed it with some flexible sealant just put a big blob in the hole on the gear knob. put it back on the ger stick.

let it cure for a while . overnight is best.

    then its done

    back to normal

Sounds like the ball and socket have worn and if thats the case there's not really much you can do about it other than buy a new gear stick assembly, vx wont sell you the individual parts to repair it (b*stards!!!) and even a standard one isn't cheap, I priced up a vxr one and they wanted 300 quid and a standard one wasn't much cheaper. I'm sorry to say it but its either put up or cough up.

The standard one is around £175. I got mine changed when my knob starting clicking, which meant that it was about to drop off, and the whole assembly needed replacing, which thankfully I had done under warranty.

Get on ebay matey there's bound to be one somewhere, I managed to get my vxr one for 100 quid after waiting 4 months for one to come up, I'm sure I saw a standard one for about 25 quid while I was looking for mine and that was a vectra c breakers.
