Default Twin Exit Without Back boxes...

Sorry For being a pain lol... but somebody mentioned somewhere that they had a twin exit exhaust with out having back boxes in.... is this possible/reccomended... as it seems a very easy and cheap way of getting a twin exit....

    Thanks

now then daryl , selling the splitter kits on e-bay, only one back box with a pipe coming from that so you have 2 exhausts

no difference in noise mate you would need to remove the cat as i believe, ive had the vxr full exhaust fitted from the cat and there is a slight difference in noise under heavy load

firstly do you have a diesel or petrol (your profile says astra) reason i ask is that a petrol system need boxes for back pressure, if so then this it's still possible but noise level will increase but i would sudguest leaving the centre section in to help it stay at a reasonable level

what i have on my diesel..
cat, centre section, straight pipe with a 'Y' section, pipes from there and then tail pipes of my choice fitted.....

with it being a diesel there is very little to no increase in noise (unless you remove the centre section and cat that is then it get's louder and sound's fappin awsome as the turbo spool's during gear change)

Don't do it mate. i've seen cars with this on and it looks awful. Less smoke comes out one than the other so its obvious plus they seem to hang weird. Its mainly chaved up Pugs and Saxo's I've seen them on.
