    Exclamation Air intake hose missing?

    Air intake hose missing?.
Hi.I have been looking at the posts on the air box mod for the 1.9cdti and it looks quite interesting. However,I fitted a panel filter the other day and noticed that the bottom section of the air box where the air inlet is,well, there isn't anything there!!.Just a stub, like the end of a pipe.Should there be a middle piece between the air intake duct in the grille and that air box?.Felixx.

    Pic would help really.

Also, it would help a great deal if instead of having 'felixx' as the thread title for all your threads, you typed what the thread was about.

When you start a new thread, where it says 'Thread title, instead of typing 'felixx', simply type a relevant thread title.

EDIT: Altered this thread title for you in the meantime.

You should have a flexi corrugated plastic pipe from your air box to a air scoop behind your grille it means your air box is sucking in hot air from your engine bay

Pipe should not be that much or buy some cold air feed off the bay for a tenner and fit that to the air scoop

It could also just be the drain in the bottom of the air box.

    Thumbs up Felixx.

Sorted.Rang VX this morning and they confirmed that there was a piece missing so went over and picked it up for £7.(Quite surprised really, thought it would have cost more from them!!!).
I had to take the air box out and found a spare/loose rubber formed pipe which looked like it should have been attached,(it angled round and over and was fitted to a pipe coming up from the bottom of the engine area, anyway,it was a b***h to get back into the box,but after a squirt of fairy liquid and a lot of pushing with a flat ended screwdriver,it went in the hole and fitted perfectly, and, because it had a notch in the rubber which located with a corresponding groove in the top of the hole in the box,it re attached to the pipe from the engine, with no problem whatsoever.
(Does anyone know what this pipe is for or where it goes/comes from?).
Anyway, the car goes like a train now so I think I've had a result.
Thanks to everyone for your help.

That is the drain for the airbox, shouldn't cause any issues being disconnected.
