    Default trumpet or not??

well, like quite a few on here I took the trumpet out of the air box, it made it a lot nicer to drive improved the around town MPG, but had not had chance to test the M-WAY MPG untill a couple of weeks ago, a round trip of 470 miles at 70 mph, with the trumpet 37.8 MPG, with out the trumpet 42.3 MPG, I was surprised,, but even mpre surprised by this,, please read on. an old boy asked me if I would take him to the lake district very early one morning, he would see me right for juce etc etc, however it turnd out he had been in a very bad car crash and lost his wife, so would I keep to 50 MPH ON THE m-way, 50 mph I nearly told him to get someone else,, anyway I did it, I droped him off just north of Kendal, now I don't know why I did this but I did,, I came back at 50 mph, as I had brimed the tank and set the trip before we left, I went and brimed the tank back at the same garage,, a round trip 216 miles, my car is a 1.8 petrol, you would not belive the MPG, but 50 mph on the MOTOR WAY NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN.

Yea Im getting a combined 41mpg with my 1.8 petrol, which from what i read here is better than some of the diesel guys get I have yet to modify the airbox, but will do it for no other reason than I can. I am a bit sceptical that it will improve anything tbh.

If I had been getting a combined of 41 MPG I think I would have left things alone, I was very sceptical as well, but am glad it has worked for me.

I am thinking of putting mine back on again tbh.

I noticed at first the engine was perkier lower down but as time goes on

i am thinking that it may have lost a bit of power further up the rev range.

Maybe it's just me getting used to the car now but it does not seem to pull like it did

    through the gears

I have a mate with a 150 diesel who is putting his back on, neither of us can tell any difference and his MPG is down a bit, but his car dont go very well for a 150, but he is runnng a K&N filter,, this mod seems to work better with the petrol engine.

No. But if it's using more fuel then it's using more air which must mean more power. Well in my logic it does.

Awaits someone with too much time on their hands to google it.
