    Question carbon fibre wrapping

i want to carbon wrap interior parts on my sig as the rubber stuff is coming off most of the plastic and it looks crap. i'm not any good at doing stuff like this as i always get air bubbles stuck in it and make a mess of it tryin to fix it. at work we have an old vac-pac machine do you think if i swap the plastic wrap for the carbon fibre stuff and use it to wrap the parts it would look any good/ or work?

probably not, it depends on which wrap you go for, ive done some bits in my car and used 3m di-noc, it has channels in the back which help the air escape, but best of all it can be heated, just use a hair dryer to warm it, then it will stretch over anything, I have done my steering wheel and inserts, the dash and door card inserts and even done a mates scooby bonnet and wing mirrors, no bubbles, no fuss!! cheep too, i got mine from www.carbonfibrewrap.com but you can also get the same stuff on ebay, just make sure its the genuine 3m stuff and you should be fine!

i doubt it would work as the wrap pack stuff is on a roll and is vaccum sealed over the items and is highly flexible - the carbon vinyl wrap stuff needs to be at a decent temp to become flexible and bend to contours , and has an adhesive backing which means that its probably not going sit correctly on the machine ....
i suppose you could try it, but how expensive is the machine when it goes wrong and you need to get it repaired
