climate control unit.

Hi, the control unit for my climate control is faulty (the bit with the knobs and buttons) i have tried two used units and both don't work. When they are plugged in nothing happens, no output on screen etc. Car says it can't communicate with unit.
Does the control have to be programmed in or should it just work straight off? or can you only replace with brand new unit?

I can't confirm both replacement units are fine but it seems strange two replacements have both failed in the same way!

Can anyone shed any light on this? anyone successfully replaced with used unit?
I'm not keen on paying Vauxhalls extorniate prices but if there is no other way i will have too!

Some do, some don't. Out of The two new ones I've had one worked straight away and the other needed a tech 2 session. Both were brand new.

Which climate control do you have , can you post a picture as I have a spare unit here , that you can test with if its the same.
