Default Just when I thought it was safe to go out...

Had to go down to Luton today to fetch a show cat been away to be mated.
Coming back first few junctions of M1 were 50mph roadworks, then we got hit by torrential rain, hard to see white lines at 30mph with fast wipers and lights on (in daylight).
Got clear of that, only to start seeing signs for accident/incident between J18-19, J19 being were we needed to go for M6. Miles of that, speed varying from 0 - 50mph and back repeatedly.
Finally got on M6, congestion there around Coventry for no apparent reason. Traffic finally started to open up, got up to 70mph on cruise for the first time in what seemed like hours, only to spot another silver Vectra so far up my chuff I could only see windscreen - at 70mph. Wife said pull over asap let him go, I did, then swung back out trying to get model details, registration etc, but got told to slow down and behave. Stayed on route for M6Toll, with cars dodging back and forth over 5 lanes at speed. Finally got onto Toll road and got some sanity, till we came off A460/M54 to find the lunatics were out of the asylum there as well.
Tired and battered, reach the A41 for the last stretch, 60mph on cruise, only to turn off through town to find an Astra doing 20mph in 40mph limit.
