    Default licence question

Guys im confused about how long ive held my licence for.

on the front of the licence it sais its valid from 28-03-07
but on the back under "From" it sais 24-07-06.

i had the card replaced a few years ago so wondering if thats the differance.

    any ideas?

the short answer is yes. you will also notice that the expiry of your licence will be in 2016, as licenses are only valid for 10 years. this change came in a few years ago. i changed my address back in 2006 & now have it expiring in 2016 too.

everyone needs to keep an eye on this, as we wouldnt wanna get in trouble with the rozzers, would we!

Front is from when you got that licence, as in did you change address or such, back is from when you past your test.

Yup, this is because of the photograph, same as passports.

Probably, and then pay a nice hefty price for the privelidge

I wish I'd kept my paper one now, that won't expire for another 28 years!!

As said above though, if you don't replace it when it expires, then you will obviously become unlicensed, and will therefore not be allowed to drive (legally).

Another way to fleece car owners

i lost my card licence so the fact it was a card in the first place means i would still need it renewed.
