Default just waiting for something to go wrong

i have a 56 cdti 150, with 30,000 on the clock , i love this site and all the information provided , how ever even though i have had new vec i am constantly paranoid about getting a problem due to posts,

is it members that find faults more likely to post........ and members that do not have faults do not post

If it happens it happens, as someone once said paranoia is just a heightened state of alertness.

If the car is running fine - ie no misfires, good pick up below 2,000rpm, good boost and good mpg - enjoy it

Try to avoid the posts until the spanner light comes on mate (if you are unlucky), that way you won't be looking for problems

Posts are not a problem unless you run into them

i work in the motor industry and all i do all day is look at the warranty manufacturing defects for several different manufacturers - when new cars are launched i spend time looking at them and trying to work out what the failures will be and when they will go wrong

BUT its not all doom and gloom - if you consider the amount of the same make/model of a car on the road then the number of reported complaints /defects/failures and even RECALLS is minimal in the whole picture of things....
and to be honest if i continued to worry about the things that can and do go wrong on my and other peoples cars ..... i would probably never get out of bed or leave the house

    Just an example...

25,000 members on this site... Even if 10% of these joined specifically to find an answer to a problem.... thats 2,500 posts....

Even if 10% of those had serious problems, that would be 250 threads started.. and those are small percentages

So rather than look at the 250 threads started with people having serious problems. Look at the other 22,500 people who didnt need to post, but you never hear from them

My point being... plenty of happy owners, but they have no reason to post. Except me... lol... I just post anyway
