Default Uprated Sports Suspention (Rear Shocks)

I have tried shopping arround for the rear shocks for my 54 Signum 1.9 CDTI 16v Design.

My usual part supplier doesnt stock them and Vauxhall seem to be a little confused and quoted my £277 each. (a joke)

The confision was between the self leveling system shocks and the normal ones, I hope the quote given was the self leveling ones.

Can anyone shed some light on which ones I have and its a long shot does any one have part numbers.

I would go for an OE replacement - something like Bilstein. Even on the sporty Design they shoud be better than the vx offering.

That price is even high for selfleveling supension.. as normal price would be about 220£ each.. (i know as i just put it on mine)

I've got a 55 Signum 1.9 CDTI 16v Design and had Bilstein B4's put on mine about 5k miles ago.

Think I paid £80 for them both + fitting.

What springs are you using – standard or aftermarket.

How do you find the ride with the B4's compared to the std ride on the Design? - I find the std design suspension a bit to 'crashy'[/FONT]

Not sure really, they were just fitted by the garage I go to as when they went to do the shocks one of the springs had snapped. I think there just standard euro-carpart type one's.

As for the ride, its never been great, always felt slightly loose. Its no different now, but better now I've new tyres.
