    Default Facelift O/S Sidelight

(Did a search before posting this but only found pre-face info)

Had an intermittent bulb warning for a few weeks now but the bulb finally blew today and the warning stayed on. It's was the O/S sidelight which is referred to as the parking light in the manual.

The manual says that the headlight unit needs to be removed and should be done by a dealer.

I have just changed mine and it was easy. Took 10 mins but the rain probably speeded up that time a bit

You just need to remove the airbox cover and prise off the soft rubber air intake tube and push it out of the way. Then there is more than enough room.

Once the circular cover is unscrewed, the bulb holder just pulls out and the bulb itself again is just pulled to remove it from the holder.

HTH Might save somebody a trip to the dealers

Wait until you have to change the indicator bulb. The inner wing gets in the way and you've no choice but to remove the bumper to then remove the headlight.

I also found it easier to remove the bumper when I fitted HIDs. The previous time I went down the route of removing the airbox and suffered with loads of scratches to the back of my hands for my trouble.

So is it access that's the problem or can you not remove it because of the wing?

From what I recall, the bulb holder sits tight up against the wing.

Just been out to have a look

No room to remove the bulb from it's holder.

I hope mine dont blow anytime soon. I dont fancy taking the bumper and headlight off in pouring rain
