    Default is it worth changing??

    noticed recently that for around a grand i could swap my pre-face 2004 2.0t for a 2005/6 facelift 2.0t

both have very similar mileages so for the sake of £1000 is it worth the swap???

i know vx started cost cutting after 2004 and dropped some features so what would i loose or gain form the swap?? (both are sri spec)

Best option - go and look at the new one and see what it does/doesn't have mate. You could get lucky and have lots of optional extras on it like the CD70 Navi or you could end up worse off in which case you're better off spending the 1000 quid facelifting your car. At least then you know the history of it...

when i looked at upgrading from a preface to a face lift same spec 2.0t Signum the dropped kit was amazing - and i would have been back to square one on what i had accomplished albeit with a newer car - but lower/similar power - that's why i decided to go for a higher spec and larger engine as it gave me more power and tuning potential straight out of the box....so to speak

as above - get yours valued by the garage that has the new one - you may find that they dont have a great deal to play with on the deal so knock your trade in value down.... or you might be lucky

im very much in two minds on this one dez as im very much in love with 2.8T siggys (albeit never having been in one) im just not sure i can justify the extra running costs (tax, fuel and insurance as im only 19 ) or the loss of a rear seat, and it would have to be manual, low mileage ect ect my list goes on and on

IMO Only go for the facelift if you prefer its front end over the pre-facelift's, and the facelift does handle better, but no TC (unlike the pre-facelift) '

that was the idea but it may not come off yet!

if you type vectra 2.0 T in autotrader and check out the 20 or so results then the pricing is very much random,

and i spotted porkball's one about a day before he went to view it, havent got the cash to change right this second so was just getting general consensus as to if people thought a pre-face or facelift would be a better bet!!

case in point = very cheap facelift!!

however there are pre-faces with 70odd thousand miles priced at 5k so pricing is very random
