    Default speedo dials droping

at the begining of the year i put th car into the dealers to activate the heated rear seats as my car had been wired for them (i added the heater pads) .whilist talking to the young technition working on my car ,i told him that the traction control had stayed on one day & that it was a one off ,he said that the vectra cs were prone to a bad connection at the abs, so he greased the connection (i thought this would make it water tight ) .........over the last few mounths i have had a problem where you are driving along & suddenly the needles on the speedo drop & all dash clock lights come on, the car runs fine & centre display still works ,then they will jump back on ........ this problem was a now & again thing that started to happen more & more . i looked this part of the sight to see if anyone else had the same problem . armed with a couple of posibile answers i took it to vaux today & they told me that it was my abs plug ( front of the battery ) that was at fault someone had covered it in grease & it was in fact the cause of the bad connection . i then told him it had been greased in there workshop ,he said that VX HQ has instructed workers no longer to use grease connections

makes me wonder why he just didn't use a silicone spray to displace any water that may get into the plug...

what do you know it s happening again .i took it back to vaux they say if it continues the abs (behind battery)(not in front as i stated earlier) plug on the harness will need replacing Ģ164 (aparently older vec cs have badly fitting abs plug treminals which has been amended in newer vecs)

    Hi guys
does this happen when its damp or when raining or if you just use the windscreen washers cos it seems like i have the same problem. It has cut out while driving a couple of times and then failed to start. It also has failed to start first thing in the morning.

In my case happens when itīs dry (donīt have too much rain around here...I live in the middle of the friking desert)...and really havenīt found any situation that triggers the problem...for me...soo far itīs a computer glitch...just restart the car an goes back to normal.....but yeah now that you mentioned...I had struggled with the star/restart situation when this happens.
I really would like to find what ever is causing this problem...but as far as I know nobody is really certain of what is causing it. Maybe the terminals that RORYCARZ mentioned would lead us to some answer.
