    Default Big problems

I have just got my vectra out of the garage spending £600 on it. I kept getting a pic of a spanner and the car would go into limp mode. Diaganostics revealed its something to do with the boost and barametric pressure. Had pipes and sensors changed and looked at and 2 days later its the same.

    HELP

A couple of questions to begin with:-

    What year of car?
What engine is in the car?
    Approx mileage?
Any other symptoms, e.g loss of power, lots of smoke from exhaust?
What, if anything, was replaced or checked by the garage?
What fault codes are stored (try the pedal test (press brake and accelerator down fully, then switch ignition on but DON'T start engine)? Codes should either appear in mileage display or by a flashing engine light.

At the end of the day, if you have paid the garage £600 and the car is no different now to when it went in, then they should either refund you or fix it at their cost.

    What he said.
£600! Get it back or get them to fix it, for the money you've already paid.

It's a 2002 2.0dti. Did they look at the boost pipes and clean the sensor? I hope they didn't charge you £600 for those.

I,m with the guys above if you paid £600 and its still doing it I would DEMAND my money back or they fix the problem.

I never had the spanner prob until VX touched it. Came out of being serviced 10 mins down the road and the light was on. Had it 6mths before that and no problem. Vx told me they had forgotten to re-attach the pipe to something.....a year on and its still does it every now and again.

    hi

to start with it was the crank shaft pully that went that was over £200. Got it back and it wasnt right it was extremly noisy. got towed home later that night, took it back and they hadn't noticed the tension spring had snapped as well so that was a further £300. Got it back the mph has gone down to £10 gets 30 miles and the spanner light came on and the car went into limp mode. Took it back they supposidly vaccummed pressure tested it and replaced a hose another £100. Got it back less than 2 days later exaxtly the same thing and i had to call the RAC to follow me home.
    The cars detail are
    2.0lr dti with a y20dth engine
    15000 with fsh.

It took it to CPS. Not sure what tension spring it was.
Its at T&A Motors now who are at least being a bit more honest with me and saying they dont really know whats wrong with it. They are going to have another look today, but if they dont know i may need that address later, although i will have the problem of getting it there lol.

Look at the receipt they gave you. I'd want to know what it was and why it was made put of gold for that price!!!

Any idea what fault codes it's bringing up?
