Default Had enough of bearing the noise!

I need a new front wheel bearing, on the near side. I believe that they come as a complete unit in the hub. Can I just check that this is the right part before I buy...

    My car is a 2003 (53) SRi 2.2 DTi.

    Thanks in advance!

I've got an aftermarket bearing on mine & its been ok - no issues with abs lights etc. Mines an '02 2.2 dti, be careful cos the garage i used reckon there are 3 different types of bearing for that model vectra. They showed me the old bearing & it does looks a lot like that one on ebay but its hard to say for definate & I don't want to say buy it in case it doesn't fit your car.

There are two different types of bearing on the Vec-C, IDS and non IDS.

Aftermarket bearings are fine but don't go for the cheapest of cheap because as mentioned they can cause problems with the ABS/TC system

    yes i have done it.

take bottom shock bolts off, track rod off knuckle, brake disc and caliper off, disconnect the wear pad sensor and abs sensor from the plugs that are situated on the shocker. take off drive shaft nut (you'll need a deep 32mm socket) Use special tool to push drive shaft through the hub. take out bottom ball joint bolt and the knuckle will lift off.

Now you have to loosen the thee hub retaining bolts on the back of the knuckle and batter the old hub out with a big hammer.

Note.. when fitting the new hub, note what position the abs sensor cable is at, if not the cable will not stretch to the plug.

    Hope this helps
