1.9cdti timingbelt?

hello, i am new to this site and have just recently bought a 1.9cdti estate 05 model....i was wondering ig this engine runs either a timimg belt or a timimg chain, if it runs a belt when would it need changing......thanks for your help....dave

Hi mate, it's a timing belt, vauxhall did for a while recommend it to be changed at 100k but many timing belts were snapping before this (Mine Included).It's usually due to a seized water pump rather than belt failure. To be safe I'd leave it no longer than 50-60K miles.

10 years or 100k, dont wait, spend the money and get it done, for peace of mind.
